Subscription Marketing: Spotify Ahead of the Pack in Terms of Paying Users

We keep our eyes and ears trained on the subscription marketing business as it's informative and illustrative in the digital marketing space. Here's one of those timely and relevant examples: Subscription Music.

In October Apple's CEO Tim Cook proudly announced that Apple Music currently had 6.5 million paying users. While that is not so bad considering that the streaming service was only launched in late June, it's probably still far from what Apple's ultimate goal in the streaming market is. Spotify, the company that Apple set out to challenge, passed 20 million paid subscribers in June and is showing no signs of backing down.
